My Love For Pintrest

I've been poorly for the last couple of days and I've been on Pintrest nonstop. I never thought I would be that person that loved Pintrest, but here we are.

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

I love the aspect of organisation; the fact that everything has a place, pleases me immensely. Whether that is inspiration for tattoos, motivational words or stunning interiors. I can spend hours just scrolling though, making new boards and lusting over autumn fashion. I cannot wait till I have my own apartment/house so I can make it look Pintrest worthy with loads of plants, books and the ever so popular copper decor.

I am aware that this is a bit of a odd post, but if you don't already have a account, I highly suggest you get one so you too can share my obsession love for Pintrest.

Do you have Pintrest?

Summer 2015 Summary

I think it is safe to say that summer is officially over. We are now in the first week of September and everyone is either going back to school or work and I've got to actually start doing something with my life.

Summer 2015 was a good'un. And there were some specific things that really stood out and made this summer, one to remember.

1. Probably the highlight of my summer was going to see Ed Sheeran in concert with my sister. This was my first concert (shock horror) and it was brilliant. Passenger and One Republic opened and they were both amazing.

Passenger (Pictured above)

My sister and I were a bit anxious at first because the concert was at Wembley Stadium which was a capacity of 80,000 people and we were standing. The only annoying thing that happened was that a man behind us kept trying to push us out of the way and I had to actually tell him to take a step back several times throughout the night which was really quite annoying. But apart from that, it was an amazing night and I need to go see more concerts now!

If you want to see a video of the concert click here

2. Every year we go up to the UK to visit family and it was great to see them again.  My cousins who live in Malaysia also came up to surprise us towards the end of our visit and it was the first time I had seen them in years! And they had a baby girl last year and it was the first time we got to meet her she is such a little treasure.

3. I friend and I went for a day out in London and I loved visiting Camden Town again. I just love the little stalls full of trinkets and the food stands that smell amazing.

4. And as always, shopping! I mainly online shopped because it is just easier than making the effort to go to the shops, which were about a 40 minutes drive away. But, I absolutely love some of the pieces I bought this year and there will be more outfit and fashion posts, so watch this space.

5. Going on safari was another highlight of my summer. We saw loads of animals and I wrote a blog post about it here. Getting to see a leopard was probably the best part and we were so lucky to have seen it.

6. Lastly, I just loved having not a care in the world. I haven't had a summer in a long time where I didn't have some sort of school work and it was amazing to just relax and not have to worry about school.

What did you do this summer? Anything exciting?

World Elephant Day

I had never seen an Elephant in real life until I was about 10, and I can remember being completely mesmerised by them. Now, I can't even count the number of Elephants I have seen. And it never gets old being able to witness these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.

This post isn't just me confessing my love for elephants. I wanted to draw attention to the fact that they could be extinct in our lifetime. How scary is that? Both African and Asian Elephants face threats such as the escalation of poaching, illegal trade, habitat loss and mistreatment in captivity.

When trying to tackle such a big issue like this, you can sometimes feel like there is nothing you can do the help. But there are so many different things you can do to help keep these animals alive.

Become more educated on threats to elephants and the solutions to such threats. Awareness is key.

Only visit Eco-tourism operations. Support those who treat elephants with respect and dignity and aid in conservation efforts.

You can also support any of the organisations listed here. Whether that is donating funds or simply sharing their efforts on social media. I personally support the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust through fostering Lasayen, an orphaned elephant who fell down a well.

And lastly, support World Elephant Day.  Help raise awareness by expressing your concern and knowledge as well as solutions for the improvement of care for captive and wild elephants. Get involved and sign a pledge here to "support a world that protects elephants, wildlife and their habitat".

This post was written with aid from resources available from the World Elephant Day website.

Read more about World Elephant Day here.

Don't forget to use the #WorldElephantDay hashtag today. Make your voice heard for those who don't have a voice.

Out For A Walk

With the lovely weather we seem to be having in the UK recently, I have been taking every opportunity to be outside.

I am trying to live a less sedentary lifestyle and going for walks is an excellent way to keep active but still relaxed.

I have also been loving my new denim jacket from New Look. It's perfect just to pop over pretty much everything.

I also got a new camera as a present to myself for finishing school. It's the Canon 700d and it's bloody gorgeous. And cheers to my sister Marion for helping me with photos.

What have you been getting up to in this summer heat?

An Update

Hello there,
It has been a while.

From my previous post, you might be aware that I have graduated high school.
I can't believe that I can actually say it, but yes, I am a high school graduate. am no longer subjected to the monotonous and life draining evil that is high school.

(From left to right; Dad, Me, Mum, A Family Friend)

Along with 45 of my classmates, I went to stay at a beach hotel for three days after graduation. It was such an uncommon feeling to have not a care in the world. But as always, there was drama. All in all, it was a great send off to the classmates that I might never see again.

While lounging by the pool one day, some random dog ran up from the beach and decided to have a snooze right beside me.

I also cut my hair. It was getting too long (about half way down my back) and it was taking a lot of effort to maintain it. I just fancied a change and it being short will be a lot easier for summer.

Now that I have a lot more time on my hands, I will be posting more regularly here. Expect a lot of photos of the beach. I am going to spend a lot of time as a beach bum this summer.

And on that bombshell, goodnight!
(Who else misses Top Gear?)

Nearly There

As of today, the 26th of April, 2015, I only have 27 more days until I graduate high school. It felt like this day would never come and I have no idea what to do with myself now that it is.

I only have two more days of classes, then study leave for five days and
exams start on the 4th of May. At this point, I am more excited than scared. Not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Anyway, seeing as though a new chapter of my life is about to begin (cheesy I know, but true), I thought I would list some things that I am excited about after graduation.

Reading
I cannot explain how excited I am to be able to read a book that is not a textbook. I have a couple of books that I am going to read including Paper Towns by John Green, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding.

Films
There have been so many movies that I want to watch that I just haven't found the time to recently. I have been watching the odd movie here and there and actually have blog post about movies I have been recently watching and you can find that here. But I am going to be watching multiple movies back to back until I run out.

TV Shows
I stopped watching a couple of shows in late 2014, purely because I knew that I couldn't afford the time in my last year of high school. I can't wait to binge watch them all for days on end. I also want to start watching a couple new series including Flash, Downton Abbey, Better Call Saul, American Horror Story, Gotham, and a lot more.

Organising
It annoys me greatly that I have crates and draws filled with unwanted and unloved items that I know other people can enjoy. I have a lot of trinkets and things that I have grown out of that I cannot wait to organise and give away.

Exercise
It was a new years resolution to start exercising more and I haven't made enough effort recently. When I did exercise regularly, I honestly did feel like a happier and healthier person so I am very excited to get back into the swing of it.

Freedom
For as long as I can remember, I have always felt this weight on my shoulders and it is going to be a breath of fresh air to have not a care in the world. I am going to be the ultimate beach bum for weeks.

Ps. I won't be posting a blog post until after graduation because I really need to focus on my exams.

Tumblin

I have been obsessed with tumblr lately.

What Makes Me Happy

Source

We often get immersed with life and its trivialities, but don't stop to think about the simplest of things. Our happiness being one of them. There are numerous factors that can attribute to ones happiness, but often the smallest of life's offerings can be overlooked and the more superficial aspects can be recognised most.

Its the little things that make life special. It sounds cliche, I know. But I really do believe that the short-lived happiness gained from something small can accumulate to you being a happier individual.

Being appreciative of those small moments is something not everyone has the capacity to do. But recognising what those little things are is going to make it a lot easier when you realise that you aren't happy and want to do something about it.

Source

Anyway, enough rambling. These are a few things that make me happy:

- Cuddles with my cat

- Eating sushi (yumm)

- Getting lost in a book

- Skype calls with my sister who is away at Uni

- When it's not too cold or hot with a light shower of rain and a breeze

- Days spent being a beach bum

- Deep sea diving

- Long chats with my best friend

- Dark chocolate

- Sunsets at the beach

- Falling asleep to the sound of the rain

- Silence

- Succeeding in school

- The perfect cup of coffee in the morning

- Crying with laughter

- Dancing with music blasting without a care in the world

- A good soundtrack

- The fact that people actually want to read what I have to say and I am so thankful for that.

What makes you happy?
