Summer 2015 Summary

I think it is safe to say that summer is officially over. We are now in the first week of September and everyone is either going back to school or work and I've got to actually start doing something with my life.

Summer 2015 was a good'un. And there were some specific things that really stood out and made this summer, one to remember.

1. Probably the highlight of my summer was going to see Ed Sheeran in concert with my sister. This was my first concert (shock horror) and it was brilliant. Passenger and One Republic opened and they were both amazing.

My sister and I were a bit anxious at first because the concert was at Wembley Stadium which was a capacity of 80,000 people and we were standing. The only annoying thing that happened was that a man behind us kept trying to push us out of the way and I had to actually tell him to take a step back several times throughout the night which was really quite annoying. But apart from that, it was an amazing night and I need to go see more concerts now!

If you want to see a video of the concert click here

2. Every year we go up to the UK to visit family and it was great to see them again.  My cousins who live in Malaysia also came up to surprise us towards the end of our visit and it was the first time I had seen them in years! And they had a baby girl last year and it was the first time we got to meet her she is such a little treasure.

3. I friend and I went for a day out in London and I loved visiting Camden Town again. I just love the little stalls full of trinkets and the food stands that smell amazing.

4. And as always, shopping! I mainly online shopped because it is just easier than making the effort to go to the shops, which were about a 40 minutes drive away. But, I absolutely love some of the pieces I bought this year and there will be more outfit and fashion posts, so watch this space.

5. Going on safari was another highlight of my summer. We saw loads of animals and I wrote a blog post about it here. Getting to see a leopard was probably the best part and we were so lucky to have seen it.

6. Lastly, I just loved having not a care in the world. I haven't had a summer in a long time where I didn't have some sort of school work and it was amazing to just relax and not have to worry about school.

What did you do this summer? Anything exciting?

Tsavo West Safari

I absolutely love going on safari and am fortunate enough to live only a couple of hours away from Tsavo, one of the oldest and largest national parks in Kenya. My dad is very keen on us being campers and not 'lodge people' but as a treat for my sister and I for graduating, we went to Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, located in Tsavo West.

It was an amazing weekend with the family and the highlight must be when we spotted a leopard just but the side of the road. It is very rare to see a leopard so close and we were so lucky to be able to see it. We also saw loads of zebra and giraffes. The second night we were there, nearly 20 elephants were by the water hole and it was such an amazing sight to see.

Have you ever seen any animals in the wild? If so, which ones? I am desperate to see a lion.

Feeding Giraffes | A Day Out

My Dad, Sister and I were bored at home and we decided to venture off to 'Haller Park', which is a nature park near by.

Feeding a Giraffe is an experience. I remember coming here as a child and always being a bit apprehensive, but they are wonderful animals. You don't want a slobbery one though!

This picture is probably my favourite.

There are other animals in the park including Crocodiles, Snakes, Zebra, Hippos and more.

The animal above is a Waterbuck.

In the picture above, there are three Oryx, one Zebra and two Kudus.

The picture above is of a Buffalo.

I had a lovely day seeing the animals and spending time with family.

Best Way To End 2014

I had the best couple of last days in 2014.

My sister and I went on a boat tour about an hour from our house where we went diving and snorkelling.

I had the best time at New Years Eve. I think what I enjoyed most was relaxing on the beach with friends, watching the sunrise.

I promise none of the photos in this post have filters.

How did you spend your last few days of 2014?

Wanderlust Tag

Source Unkown

Travelling to new places and experiencing different cultures is something that I avidly love and definitely see myself doing in the future. I came across this tag the other day and I thought it would be fun so here goes..

1. Where was your first plane to?
I just asked my Dad and he said that it was to the UK when I was still a baby.

2. Where have you travelled to that you would love to visit again?
I used to live in Oman and I really want to go back to see if it has changed from what I remember.

3. You're leaving tomorrow, money is no object, where are you going?
I would love to go on a Europe trip. Places like Greece, Italy, Spain, France etc.

4. Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or car?
I would have to say train. Car journeys above three hours become tedious and tiring, and crying babies are not my forté.

5. Favourite travel website?
I follow several travel Instagram accounts that just give me the feels

6. Where would you travel to just eat the food?
Without a shred of doubt, Italy. I loveee Italian food.

7. Is there a place you would never go again?
Not really.

8. Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?
Nope

9. Do you prefer the window, aisle or middle seat?
Aisle so I can stretch out my long legs

10. How do you pass the time on airplanes?
I always try to sleep, if not I will read or listen to music. I rarely watch movies on the plane unless it is something that I really want to watch because I cannot stand the tiny screens.

What are some places you want to visit?

A Weekend Away ☀ ☀

I've been very busy lately with school and I jumped at the chance to go down to our house by the beach for the weekend with my dad. It was such a chilled weekend and I enjoyed doing absolutely nothing. This is where I spent every summer as kid and I absolutely love it here.

While I was just sitting on the sand, a random dog just came and sat beside me and put his paw on my leg. He was so gorgeous and friendly.

Me enjoying some Vitamin D basking in the sun.

Me driving and still alive to write this post :P

I bought a new shirt on saturday and I didn't even realise the writing on back initially. Translated to English from Swahili, it means 'After Work'.

I had such an amazing weekend just relaxing and I am definitely going to make my way down to the beach more. Everyone has that one place were they feel utterly at home and at peace, for me, it is here, under the sun looking out at the Indian Ocean

Hope you had an amazing weekend
